Criticism
/!\ I prefer advert you that I won’t be really objective during this critique because this is one of my favorite book ahah /!\
Firstly
I don’t know where to begin because I haven’t the words for this
book ( this is not very useful for a critique I know ahah). Well this
is the BEST book I ever read (false because the third volume is the
cherry on the cake). So more seriously, I really enjoyed discover the
twists and turns of Eden and Tyler. If we weren’t in “familial”
romance, the story would be a little bit cliché. But the originality
of the story catch us, we are like the characters, we don’t know
how to react and above all we want to discover how will they do.
Besides, as Eden who loves psychology, there is a big part of psychology in this book that I really love. Eden’s point of view allows us to discover
how to decipher a person and why she acts in a particular way. I
found this element really important in this book because it helps us
while we are entertaining and this reasoning reaches all kind of
people (even on Eden herself). Another point that I loved during my
reading is that I could “virtually” discover Los Angeles county,
and I learned about American culture, geography, shopping,
traditions … (you already know that I’m fond of anglophone
culture if you read my introduction).
Something that I appreciate among the characters is that there are diverse, there’s good and bad people, some that change, some that are really nice, some that are funny … Furthermore, secondary characters have a real place in the book, they take part in the plot. BUT my favorite characters are obviously Eden and Tyler. Eden because she is a strong woman even if she doesn’t know it, because she is a good person, because she wants the better for the people she loves, because she helps people, because she sometimes judges people but she tries to understand them after, because she is brave and because she is my prefered female character (I can identify myself in a few personality traits of her) of my favorite series of book. Tyler because he is lost but he has the will to change, because he is touching and moving, because when he is himself he gives smile and good vibes, because he is mentally strong even if he thinks the opposite and also because he is the picture of a broken bad boy saved by a girl. I think I love them because they are HUMAN, they represent the hardness but also the beauty of the life.
Now let’s talk about Estelle Maskame’s way with words. While I was reading (in french) I was transported in an another country and in an another universe. It means that the handwritting was easy to read but well chosen to succeed in stopping my thoughts and concentrating myself on the story.
Final conclusion
2 words : Read it.
So are you going to read it ?
Other information
Before her book was edited Estelle Maskame used to write on Wattpad, Now she published several novels thanks to his success with DIMILY.
The song :
Tension, Jack and Jack. This song makes me thing about this first volume because the lyrics represent well the tension between Eden and Tyler because of their relationship.
My note : 14/10

Ahah we feel through your review that you love this book ! For my part, I liked it, but nothing more. I find it a good read for the summer since it makes us travel. I also liked the story in general despite reading more fantasy. Good continuation !
ReplyDeleteYeah I know I like this wonderful book more than I should like it ahah ! I agree with you, it's a good reading for summer, but also for the winter because it makes us think about the sun and the holidays that are missing us . I hope you will be glad of the next criticism because it will be an urban fantasy. Thanks a lot for your lovely comment !!!
